My husband had a conference in MO, so we decided to head to Iowa and visit my friend Amy from Foursistersinacottage. It's been 3 or 4 years since I've seen her, so it was high time to visit. We visited her at her house which has an antique shop attached. If you are ever in the Cedar Rapids/Mt. Vernon, Iowa area you should stop in take a peek. Her blog is www.foursistersinacottage.blogspot.comWe stayed at the Blythe Cottage Inn that is owned by Bob and Polly Blythe. They also have an awesome antique store called Pollyanns Antiques. Pollys blog is www.pollyanns.blogspot.com. She has links on this blog to her antique store and Inn. It is a great place to stay and antique.I am including some pictures of Amy and I and Bryan (my husband) and I standing in front of the corn at Amy's. We did this the last time we visited. I will post soon about our antiquing fun in MO. They have so many fun antique malls...I found lots of goodies for my shop space and a few for me. Have a good week everyone!
I've been really busy the past 2 weeks getting ready for my upcoming occasional sale at my house. We've been doing lots of sanding, priming and painting. Lots of trash to treasure projects have been keeping us busy too. I've been sorting through my stuff...pricing...etc, and have managed to sneak a few minutes away to search for new treasures. It's going to be a fun sale, and if you're in the area it's on Saturday 18th from 8 am to 3pm at 3120 East Dudley Lane in Sioux Falls, SD. I will try to get some pictures of my creations posted. It's our 13th anniversary tomorrow...and I'm alone all week to get this stuff done myself. I loved having Bryan home for 10 days on vacation to help and now it's back to me...alone. Pray I get it all done! LOL
Happy 4th everyone! I know I'm a little late in wishing that...sorry...been a busy girl! We decided at the last minute to go to Mankato, MN (we lived there 2 years ago) to visit our Pastor, wife and kids and see the fireworks. We drove 2 1/2 hours to get there and 2 1/2 hours back. We got there at 9 pm and left by 11 pm. We sat with our Pastor and family for an hour for the concert and fireworks. It was short, but it was something to do and it was worth the drive to see our very loved friends. We miss them so much...so I would drive 100 hours if I had to just to see them!Today was Hayden's 7th birthday. We celebrated in the evening with cupcakes that had blue gelatin in them, cool whip on top and sprinkles. He got a T-ball set and Transformer toy. His cousin and grandma got to be there for his party.I've been busy getting ready for an occasional sale that I will be holding at my home in July. I am cleaning the garage, doing projects and sorting everything out to get ready. For those of you who live in Sioux Falls I will be holding it at my house on Saturday July 18th from 8 am - 3 pm. My address is 3120 East Dudley Lane. I'm going to have a friend who also loves shabby chic and antiques bringing stuff too. I wanted to share a picture of a 4th of July display I did with my friend who has Tesa's Cottage in Viborg, SD. Enjoy and have a great week!
