Easter Display and White Wednesday
Just trying to get over an ear infection...on meds...hoping by this weekend I can be back to 100%. I've been cleaning all day...I'm having a good hair day and put makeup on, so I decided on a sundress too. It's been so nice this week that you have to enjoy it when it's here. I've got most of my floors mopped and things picked up...the best you can when you have 5 boys and an overload of inventory.
I wanted to show a picture of the Easter display I have on my kitchen hutch. The next picture are altered art fairies that I have made for an upcoming charity event I have. I am tablescaping for Tableware for Children's Care. I also get to host the table. I am going to put these fairies on the plate and put them under a bell jar/cloche. I have pictured some candles that I will put on the table too. These are just non-smelling religious candles I picked up at Target for $1.59 each. The doilies I wrapped them in were literally pennies. I think these will be so charming in the display. My theme is "Magical Garden Party." It will be decorated with mix and match china picked up at thrift stores (my own personal collection), garden statue, flowers in a watering can, candles and my altered art fairies. Who knows what else I might throw in there. I can't wait to be able to do this event.
In case I get busy this weekend...have a very Happy Easter and please remember that it is about Jesus' sacrifice for us on the cross. What a wonderful life I have in him.

Easter Basket from Formula Cans
I have a huge collection of formula cans under my sink and I knew they would make cute little Easter baskets. I washed the inside out and then took off the label. I cut out burlap and hot glued it to the can. I used ruffled crepe paper in the middle. (I bought it on etsy). I then used an old image (you can find free ones online) of a little girl and turned her into a fairy. The one can (or basket) I spelled out Easter with old game pieces. I drilled holes in the side of the can and used ripped fabric strips to make the handle and just tied them off. I think they turned out pretty cute. I figured there was no sense in buying baskets at Walmart when I could do something creative for the girl baskets I'll be giving out. Namely for my nieces and a friend's daughters. I might make one up for my little neighbor girl who is new in the neighborhood.

Not feeling so good
Just a quick note to tell you I'm not feeling so well. I wanted to show you who stares at me when I'm in my bedroom resting. It's my shabby chic monkey Maude. She wants me to get better soon so I can junk and create. She's the only girl I'll ever have!
I'm hoping to feel better soon so I can show you a charity event I'm working on. I get to do a table scape, and I'm having fun with it. Can't wait to show everyone!

I found a rose painting junkin!
I was thrifting or junkin last night. I stopped at a thrift store that has 25% off on Tuesday nights. Nada! I was going to head to Saver's and I thought...might as well go to Goodwill (we have 3 here...2 of them I frequent...the other one is out of the way of everything). This is the one that is out of the way...I hadn't been there for awhile, so I thought I might as well...I have the time. Boy am I glad I did. I found an oil rose painting! And it was so cheap! I collect rose paintings and this one is so pretty and different. It has very chunky, thick roses. I also found an old pottery lamp with roses and it has the original pottery finial. I've actually never seen one of those! I got "Glee" the first season brand new and never opened for $6! I almost bought it at Target for $30. I am so glad I didn't. I've seen some of them, but it's on Wednesday nights and I help out with our church youth group so I've been missing them. I just love that show!

I sewed another apron
I got back on my new sewing machine today and tried making another apron. I made it out of an old pillowcase and some other odd and ends. I love the way it turned out. I am so excited to wear this one too! I am slowly learning to sew and my lines are a bit better on this one. Thank goodness for layering...so I can cover my mistakes. My house is a disaster...I should of been cleaning and doing laundry. I decided to make an apron instead. At least supper is in the oven. Now it's off to clean the table (sewing in the kitchen/dining area)...so we can eat in a little bit! I have no room for a sewing room so it's going to be frustrating. I'll get by...just glad I have a sewing machine!

Learning to Sew...sew hard!
I love a new blog called Dottie Angel. She makes the most amazing things. I was so inspired that I went and bought a new sewing machine. I wanted to make a new apron for my flea markets that I do in town. The last apron I made I sewed the whole thing by hand. Not really an easy thing to do. On this blog she makes the most wonderful aprons, so I thought, "how hard could it be?' Well...it's really hard! I did make an apron...it looks alright, but if you saw it close up you would laugh at how bad the lines are. I'm proud of myself for just getting it and trying. I will keep practicing, and I am hoping someday I can learn to do an awesome job. Here is the link to Dottie Angels website http://dottieangel.blogspot.com/

I wanted to leave you with a sweet picture of McKale. He took his first walking steps today. It was so cute as he was walking sideways! He's 11 months on Wednesday. How I wish I could go back to the day he was born. He's growing way too fast! *sigh*

I had an awesome weekend at the flea market. I sold the most I've ever sold! I had a super booth spot too. I had so many great comments about my booth and met so many wonderful people. My friend (and best customer) Sarah helped me out this past weekend so it sure made the weekend go by fast. She is such a blast to hang out with. Thanks Sarah!
McKale's surgery went well. He is doing really good and hopefully soon he will sleep through the night. He is such a sweet boy and I love him so much!
I will try to get a giveaway by Friday or Saturday this week...keep watching...and enter to win!
Just to let you know these pictures are of my newly decorated booth space. I went in on Monday and spent 3 hours totally revamping it! I love the new look!

Fun Flea Market Pictures!
I've had a really great day at the flea market today. Lots of sales...and lots of fun. My friend Sarah came with me today to help. We had lots of fun visiting with people and with each other. I've been a good girl and haven't even bought anything myself. I get lots of positive comments from people and they are loving my booth. That makes me feel so good. I wanted to share a few pictures with you of some of my wares. I took it toward the end of the day. I really should of taken pictures before I got started, but of course I forgot.
This is my 99th post...hard to believe! Time is flying so fast! Thanks to all of you who encourage me and follow my blog. I just might have to do a giveaway! Stay tuned!

White Wednesday Revamps
Here it is White Wednesday again...I feel like a bad blogger! But I have good reasons! I've been busy painting and pricing etc, etc. for this weekend's upcoming flea market. It just gets to be crazy around here with so much to prepare for! If you live in the Sioux Falls area then come visit me at the Benson Flea Market at the Sioux Falls fairground this Saturday and Sunday! Look for the pink haired tattooed girl!
Little McKale has to have tubes put in his ears this coming Monday. It's a minor thing, but major to me since it's my baby being put under. I'm happy for him so he can finally have some comfort and not always be in pain. Can you believe he'll be one in a month and a half? It has gone so fast!
Leaving you with some "revamped" white pieces I've been working on...the table is to die for!
