Some awesome finds

I took Hayden and McKale out today to a thrift store so we could get out of the house. We didn't find much at the thrift store which was disappointing and so busy! I took a different way home then the way I went to the thrift store. I saw a house with a bunch of boxes sitting in the yard and lots of vintage/old stuff. I turned around and got out of the car to ask the lady if they were having a sale. She said no, but if I saw something I wanted then make an offer. I found some neat stuff. A 60's or 70's wire dress form (it has other parts to it...stands up...I have to figure it out), an old fan, a metal pic-nic basket, Halloween light up blow mold, a childs projector with film, lotto game, an old lock, old chalk board, some oval frames, and an old metal cooler. That will be awesome as a planter or something since the top was missing. I also got an old toy from 1964, but it was in the house, so I didn't get a picture of it. I went to another garage sale and got a box of Halloween stuff and there is alot of vintage paper decorations. Most of those I will put on Ebay later on this fall. (Those aren't pictured either).

I made a duvet cover today!

Quick post...I have a baby who wants his mama! I made a duvet cover for my bed today out of vintage sheets. I snapped a couple quick photos of it. There are some pictures of the top of the duvet and I flipped it over so you could see the other side. This is a reversible duvet. Two looks for out of one duvet. It was my first attempt. It's definitely not perfect, but I am getting the hang of sewing and love making things for my home. Later today I will be listing some of my vintage sheets and pillowcases on Etsy and Ebay (user name chippy*cottage*charm). I have soooo many that I thought I could share some. I find them all the time! Lucky me! Have a great week!

Fun Pictures of my house

I cleaned my house for a friend to come over and I thought I would snap some pictures while it's clean. That doesn't happen very often. LOL

Bad Blogger is Back

I've been gone for 3 weeks, and boy do I feel like a bad blogger. Kids are keeping me busy...cramping my junkin style if you know what I mean. LOL All kidding aside about the kiddos...I had company at my house for about a week. Then this week I came down with a stomache flu bug and I am just getting better today. I set about cleaning my house because it seems like no one else in this house can. I'm pretty beat already and I have much, much more to get done.
I wanted to show you the flowers that I got from my husband. On Tuesday it was our 14th year wedding anniversary. He had gotten me a dozen pink roses, but our cat managed to kill a bunch of them. I salvaged what I could and did a little display with them.
I also bought this chippy little guy a couple weekends ago. He was outside and only $7.50. I just about died. I think he use to be part of a fountain because he has a hole in his mouth. Love him. I also got this vintage wallpaper box that same weekend. I love wallpaper boxes and have about 4 or 5 of them.
I also made another apron this past week. You'll never believe what it is made of. I used a new Martha Stewart valance (thrift store find), and cut it to size for this apron. I cut a runner for the pocket. On the sides of the pockets are little white yo yo's with pink buttons in the middle. I used a vintage ribbon for the tie. I love the way it turned out and can't wait to wear it when I do a show. It's almost too pretty to wear.
I'm hoping that you all are enjoying your summer. Take care until next time!

White Wednesday

It's been forever since I've posted and I'm sorry. I feel like I'm losing my viewers because of my lack of posts. It is so crazy with all 5 kids home and I don't feel like I have time to do anything. I'm pretty tired out and having a hard time with my son is autistic. He's been a hand full for me and I am just trying to survive the summer.
I wanted to share some pretties with you. I made a rose sign with pink paint and glitter for the Roses. I also want to share some cute vintage girls boots I found last night. They are 1960's or 70's white boots. These are going on Etsy for sure. I don't have a little girl, but I couldn't pass these cuties up! I also have been making vintage looking magnets using jar lids from canning tops. I found 4 vintage boxes last night of tops...so I can make lots more and hopefully take some to the shop. They are super fun to make. I bought some resin stuff and I just love it. Also working on jewelry projects with it.
Everyone have a great week!

Pretty things to inspire

Sorry everyone...I've been missing and not posting for awhile. Just call it tired and worn out. The Junkfest in the Nest sale went awesome! So many people came out and it was a true success! I made some good money and cleared some inventory...so I am happy. My two older boys did a concession stand and made good money too! And we came home with a baby kitten (from Robyn's) to boot! Great weekend...and we are doing it again this fall! Yippee!
I am debating pulling out of my space that I rent in town. I'm really not making money there anymore. I put so much into it, that I'm feeling it's not worth it anymore. I was thinking of just concentrating on doing the flea markets every month (starting in Sept) and doing the Junkfest in the Nest shows twice a year. I make good money at these two things. Then I could concentrate more on my family and boys and not worry about running back and forth every month working on my booth.
I am leaving you with some inspiring pictures from my bedroom! Have a good week all!
