Random Things

I've been real busy this weekend working on projects for this upcoming Saturday's sale. Painting, sanding, more painting, more sanding....etc, etc. I have such a mess in my garage that it's not even funny. Oh yeah...my house too. Constantly shuffling junk in and out. Story of my life.
I'm leaving you with some random pictures. I made a paper garland and finally put it up. I got some new bark cloth era curtains this weekend. I put them in my kitchen and love them! I also went from platinum blond to red this Wednesday. It's quite a change. Not sure if I like it or not. Time will tell. Don't forget about this upcoming Saturday's sale if you live in the Sioux Falls, SD area!

Some Fun Pictures of My Booth Space

I spent 6 hours yesterday revamping my booth. The owners of the store put a wall in my booth, so I went and painted the wall before the store opened. I spent the rest of the day taking my booth apart and moving things around. I wanted to take pictures to show everyone. I think it turned out pretty well. What do you think?
Lots to do in the next few weeks getting ready for my June 5th show. I wonder how I will get it all done with kids out of school now. It's really hard finding time for my projects with having a 13 month old. I mostly have to wait until Bryan is home at night or weekends. Maybe after this show I can rest a little! LOL Yeah right...then I find something else to do I'm sure!

Another Altered Dress Form

I had to make a trip out of town today (about 20 miles) to pick up some mannequins that I'm going to be putting together and selling. I stopped at one of my favorite antique stores called The Painted Lady (Canton, SD). I found this wonderful dress form really cheap. It was in 4 pieces. I wired her back together and put a coat of white paint on her. Then I paper mached clothes patterns, book pages and sheet music on her. I layered patterns on top of everything to give her a fun look. I plan to take her to the shop and sell her.
So as I mentioned I picked up mannequins and my van is full. They are all naked and in pieces, so if I open my van and anyone sees them they will get a good laugh.
Off to finally sit and relax for awhile!

Wednesday is so white!

Sorry I have been MIA for so long. My husband Bryan left for Texas on early Sunday morning...hence I am all alone with our 5 kiddos. The week is going so~so. Cole ended up with strep throat, so off to the doctor he went yesterday. He is missing the last 4 days of school because of it. Poor kid...he's not that bummed though about missing it.
Boy did I have the haul this weekend garage sailing! I found so much great stuff...and some of it super cheap! I will have to take some pictures later in the week and show you. Most of the stuff will be making it's way to the show I'm doing June 5th. Robyn from Robyn's nest is hosting a sale out at her place and there will be lots of Vendors out there. Here is the info for those of you who live near by Sioux Falls, SD area.

It's White Wednesday and here are some of my fun treasures. I found this galvanized chippy 3 drawer thingy for $9! I love the way somebody wrote all over it. It's super cool and another place to hide some craft junk. I put doors outside on one side of my deck to have privacy. These are pictures of that....don't you love the rusty rose tin tray? I love it!
Have a good week all and see you again soon!

My decorated mannequin torso

When I did the flea market a couple weeks ago I found this cardboard mannequin torso. She was old and falling apart, but she was only $6. I figured that I could do something fun with her so she would survive many more years. She was missing chunks of her so I decided to papermache her with old book pages and some old sheet music. She turned out so awesome. I decided to put her in my living room and put some of my handmade necklaces on her. I plan on using her at shows to display my jewelry.
I'm suffering from an ear infection that never got better from over a month ago. The pains started getting sharp in my ear, so into urgent care I will go tonight or tomorrow. I swear between the boys and I we should just deposit our checks to the clinic. LOL
Hope everyone has a good week!

Oh So Pretty White Wednesday

Happy White Wednesday to all. Our weather here has been so gloomy. Overcast skies and very high winds. I want to get my back deck fixed up, but it's been so ugly...so I can't. I found two awesome white doors (old 5 panel ones) on Craigslist for $10 each. They are going to block off one side of our deck for more privacy. Plus, they just look really nice!
Yesterday I scored some fun finds. I found a set of 4 vintage metal children's folding chairs. Big deal right? They are all pastel and chippy perfection! There is one aqua, one pink, and two lilac. I also found 4 round needlepoint floral cushions for chairs. I found a chippy pink terra cotta planter and some fun bottles to embellish.
Here is my White Wednesday picture selection. I am so found of vintage baby things. Especially little girls things. Enjoy these pretties! Have a great day!

Flea Market Pictures From This Weekend

What a weekend! I've worked so hard and I am so exhausted. This weekends flea market was a total bust. I didn't even make my rent. I don't know what happened. We had so much stuff going on this past weekend, so I think that really hurt the flea market. Alot of my regular customers were not there...so that didn't help me out. I'm really frustrated at this point because last month and this month have not been good for me. I'm hoping things look up with a show I'm doing in June and I heard of a place to set up for the 4th where about 10,000 people come through for the parade in this town. Keeping my fingers crossed for better things to come.
I wanted to show a couple pictures of my booth. Of course my camera wasn't charged and so it died as I started taking pictures. Story of my life. That should of been a foreshadow of things to come for that weekend! LOL
