White Wednesday~So pretty!

I was thinking it was going to be hard to photograph today. My house is truly a mess. All the boys are home this week, so...I'm not in any rush to clean! I am working on recovering my dining room chairs. I've always covered them in fabric and then taken a clear shower curtain and covered them. That way the fabric doesn't get ruined and they're easy to wipe down. Well...this will be the 3rd time I've recovered them. They keep ripping the plastic and ruining the fabric. This time I found a pink vinyl shower curtain. It's got tiny white polka dots and pink roses. There is also some small blue flowers in it. I found this in new, unused condition at the thrift store for $3.59...and I am using it to recover the chairs. It's so cottagey cute...I have 2 more chairs to go. I will take some pictures after I'm done with them. The chairs need a good scrub too! Boys are soooooo messy! I can't believe how dirty they make everything!

I'm working this Friday at Recycled Elements, so if you're in the area of Sioux Falls-stop in.

I'm leaving you with some photos for White Wednesday around my house! Check out the sweet vintage baby shoes I found! I love them! Have a good week everyone!

Making Vintage Cuffs

We ended up getting 18 1/2 inches of snow this Christmas. No travel was advised and interstates were closed down. There was no getting anywhere. So I decided to work on some vintage cuffs to keep me entertained. I've been wanting to make some, so now was the right time.

Today Bryan went to snow blow out our driveway. It took him 2 1/2 hours...the snow is so high. I can't believe what a mess it has made. I'm so ready to get out of the house, but the roads are not that great...so inside I stay.

McKale got tons of fun toys for Christmas, but what is his favorite? Strings I already had...taped to the coffee table. It's been keeping him entertained this whole weekend. He also loves the shoebox dad's present came in and my water bottles. I should of just saved my money. Kids are so funny!

The kids got a Wii this year...and they are having so much fun with that. They all had a fun Christmas...and now we'll see if mom can make it with all the kids home for another week. Trapped in the house none the less with tons of snow! LOL

Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas!

White Wednesday and Merry Christmas!

We will have a very, very white Christmas here. We could get up to 10-20 inches of snow! It's snowing right now...and we had freezing rain 2 days ago. I'm glad that we aren't having company, so everyone stays safe. Time to hunker down and just enjoy being at home!

I am leaving you with some more White Wednesday pictures from my home. Everyone have a very Merry Christmas and may you be blessed with vintage goodness!

White Wednesday & A Very Cute Smiley Baby!

Another White Wednesday here...the week goes by so fast. I've been so busy moving into my new space...Christmas shopping, wrapping, Christmas cards, and on top of that very sick kids and husband! We've had ear infections, hacking cough and the stomach flu. I can't wait until everyone is well again!
Some photos for White Wednesday around my house...and my very cute and smiley McKale. Good day everyone!

White Wednesday...moving into a 2nd store!

Well...I'm up tonight with my late night baby. I have him in such bad habits. We will both be tired tomorrow as I am moving into a 2nd antique store tomorrow. It's cold...very cold...and we have to go out and take my things this new store. My friend is opening a new place tomorrow called Recycled Elements (2212 West Madison Street) here in Sioux Falls, and she wanted me to be a part of it. So off I go to take my goods in. I will also be bringing some of the jewelry I make. It's a really exciting and bold thing for me to do, and I am hoping I can keep up. Sounds like I may work a few weekends a month at the store too!
I am leaving a picture of some chairs I found and are heading to the new place tomorrow. The other two pics are of my other shop space. Have a great week everyone!

Some Fun Projects and My Booth

This weekend has been super busy for me. I just felt like had to do things this weekend. Everything I saw I wanted to make. I went to a Christmas craft show this weekend at some one's house here in Sioux Falls. The house was so awesome. I wish I would of brought my camera.
I made this wreath for my house. I wanted something out of the box and unique. I started with a piece of garden fence. I had it cut down to just the scallop part. The sharp fence parts were bent over. It was formed into a circle like form. I had an old dust pan. I had my husband drill holes at the top, and then wired it to the form. I added faux moss, pines/greens, an artificial spray piece, a old picture of a boy and his skis, and a faux bird nest/bird. I also added the words Merry Christmas to the dust pan. I love how it turned out...really junky!
I made some altered snowmen out of old bottles this weekend too. I made a little family! I saw these at the craft show and fell in love with them.
I am also leaving you with some pictures of my booth. I hope you all have a good week. Lots of cleaning for me this week since I've been crafting all weekend. If you saw my kitchen you would die. Some day I might dare to show you what the house looks like most of the time! LOL

White Wednesday

A really quick post here. I'm making homemade soup today, for church tonight. We will be decorating for Christmas. Making this soup takes a good 1 1/2 hours to get going. It will be worth it though...so good. I'm making a double batch so we have some for home. It's my family's favorite.
One white photo of some busts and bling, bling in my bedroom. Enjoy and have a great week!

Christmas Decorating and Handmade Ornaments

Sorry about the long time in between posts. I have been under the weather lately. I slept almost all day Thanksgiving. We didn't have company, so my husband cooked a roast and I slept. I've also been super busy at the shop. I've had to go 3 times in a week to fill and work on displaying. I've been selling alot...so it keeps me busy. I also had a chance to get out and go to my favorite antique store in Canton, SD. I just bought some dollar items. I will show you what I did with them in this post. (Christmas Ornaments)

McKale has also decided to be up for the past 2 weeks almost all night, every night. I can't tell you how tired I am. He is finally getting a third tooth, so I think that is the problem. All that fuss for one tooth. Yikes!

I wanted to show a few pics of my house. I have a growing collection of pink and white Christmas trees. I have 3 ceramic pink trees, 3 pink trees I've made, one white feather tree and one ceramic white tree. I also found the cutest framed tree made by a child. Had to get it....so sweet and blends in nice with my collection! The next picture is my hutch in my kitchen/dining area. I filled jars with old ornies that I've had forever and never done anything with. The plate rack in the backgound is something my husand made out of a small piece of door and garden fencing. I love it! He is so handy and I LOVE HIM FOR IT! The next three pics are of ornaments I've been making. The mitten is batting and ticking sewn into mittens then glittered. I made 20 of them (remember now...I sew by hand!) The other is an altered stocking....I made 12 of them last year for my tree. The last is the item I bought at The Painted Lady in Canton. I bought 10 small cake tins in the shape of stars for $2.00. I put vintage sheet music in the middle...glittered them and then put tinsel around the outside of the music. I love how they turned out.

So...you can see why I haven't blogged...being sick and working on projects and the shop....and kids....so busy! God Bless your week...do something nice for someone this week. Bless their socks off!
I still have some kittens listed in my etsy shop and an awesome necklace! If you want unique gifts this just might be it!

Beautiful Altered Ice Skates and Sweater Trees

Did I have a fun time last night. After seeing a pair of altered skates on www.antiquesinoldtown.blogspot.com, I had to go make some too! They had their Holiday Open house pictures on their blog. I always enlarge the pictures because their is so much beautiful eye candy. I love the ideas and no doubt that is one of my favorite blogs. I went to the Goodwill last night and picked out the oldest (vintage) skates I could find. I found one vintage pair. The eyelets to lace the skates were even rusty and chippy...so perfect. The other pair were newer, but in rough shape. Out with the lace and odds and ends and away I went. These are what transpired! I also have been working on pink sweater trees. My pictures don't do them justice as they are all glittered and you can't tell on my pics. Hoping you have a week of inspired creativity!

Pretty White Wednesday!

Running on very little sleep. I have one spoiled baby. Since he is my last baby I have been letting him sleep on me at night...and morning...and he doesn't want to sleep in his crib! I'm afraid he's a late night owl like me! I've wanted to get on a better schedule for the both of us, but he is making it hard!

I've been working on some fun Christmas trees made of cones and sweater material. If you want a visual then go to www.cherishedvintage.blogspot.com That is where I got the idea. I will post pics later when mine are all finished!

Some random white Wednesday photos from around my house...Enjoy!

White Wednesday

A little gloomy and dark here today. The kids are home from school (2nd day in a row), and I'm really in need of a break. I wish I could go junkin.

Just wanted to share my white Wednesday pics with you. I have posted my first pic as a space in my living room. I love my armoire...my favorite piece. I have a picture of a trike I spray painted white and added a basket and florals. I have a pic of the table next to my bed. The last picture is of a time I was set up at the flea market. This week I've been working on painting things white...in the process of making a chalkboard and painting some frames of a lovely set of floral prints I found. I should be making it to the shop soon to set up my Christmas decorations. If you live in the area the shop I'm at is: Cliff Ave. Flea Vendors/Flea Market, 3515 North Cliff Ave. Sioux Falls, SD (I'm dealer #99). They are open every day of the week (MON-SAT 10 am- 5pm) and (SUN 1-5 pm).

Thanks for stopping today!

White Wednesday

I am sharing photos today of more white pretties around my house. I love the time worn look of old things chippy. If it isn't white then I paint it white.
I also am sharing a photo of some small stockings I am working for to take the shop for my Christmas decor.
I listed a bunch of awesome vintage clothes in my Etsy store. I listed a few fun things on eBay too. My user name is chippy*cottage*charm.
Have a good week everyone!

Trick or Treat

Well...we had a nice day and evening for trick or treating. The boys had so much fun. McKale slept in the van the 2nd half of the evening, so Dad stayed in the car and I took the boys from house to house. We now have tons of candy...and I have no will power...so good luck with that. Hoping you all had a fun evening with lots of tricks and treats!
