Some baby room pics
I am sharing my craft/studio room with the baby...so I haven't done tons for decorating, but thought I would share what I have done. My room is pink and aqua. McKale is getting the aqua side...I'm on the pink side. I lucked out and found vintage baby crib bedding. I found an aqua lace eyelet bumper at one thrift store...at another thrift store I found a vintage aqua polka dotted crib sheet and a yellow vintage baby quilt with pink and aqua lambs at yet another thrift store. They coordinate so nicely together. I also have been collecting some vintage lamb planters. Those are so fun...so darling. I found a pink wicker doll bed with lamb decal and that is holding my diaper and wipes in the crib. I still have a vintage baby scale somewhere in my garage that I need to dig out and display. I'm doing what I can...but it still seems pretty plain to me.

Bed rest is boring
Thought I'd say hello to everyone...it's late...I've been in bed all day trying to rest. I did sleep most of the day. I figure I'll be up all night now. Bed rest is no fun. I just want to get out and have my normal life back. I'm still taking meds for contractions every 6 hours...they wear off and then my contractions start...so if I didn't have them I'd be having an early baby.
Anyways...enough complaining! I did a small redo in my bedroom next to my bed on the table. I was tired of all the junk piled on there (because I'm in there all the time now), so I cleared it off and did a fun little display. I feel so bad to not be able to update my new blog, but I know everyone out there is understanding. It's been my dream to start one and have people love it and follow it. It's hard to let it go for now. I will try my best to keep you all updated...and include inspiring photos. They'll just have to be close to my bedside...LOL. Have a good rest of the weekend!

In and out of the hospital
Just a quick note to let all my blogger buddies know I was in and out of the hospital. The baby tried to come a little early (I'm 33 weeks). My doctor didn't want the baby to come this early so I was given meds for contractions to stop and shots for baby's lungs just in case he still comes early. I couldn't sleep much at the hospital last night, so I'm off to bed to get some much needed rest. My poor husband had to run around with all the kids for about 3 hours last night doing errands and shopping. He's 2nd in charge at work and this week has been crazy. First the #3 guy in charge had a grandma pass away and they headed to Utah for the funeral. Then I ended up in the hospital for about 24 hours and he had to take off work. Now another co-worker had his grandmother pass away and he'll be gone. My husbands going to go to work while the kids are in school and come home after that so I can rest. The #1 guy at work probably wants to run away by now. They have a skeleton crew on...hopefully next week will bring better things for all!

Under the weather
Just a quick post...I've been under the weather here...again...I'm really anemic right now. So I keep catching everything. I'm pretty miserable...with being close to my due date and all. I think my allergies are acting up too. I itch everywhere...so with all this going on I'm pretty crabby. The weather is not helping...very dreary and rainy. Some parts of South Dakota are snowing, but we're getting thunderstorms and lots of wind. I'm just glad we're not the ones getting snow.
I am on my 7th stuffed animal kitten and have 13 to go. (in a previous post...check it out) I'm pushing myself hard to get them done before the baby comes. It could be about 4 weeks now. All I can say is I'm ready to be done being pregnant! LOL
I found a few fun linens this weekend at the Salvation Army. One is a blue tablecloth with an appliqued rose and a pink crocheted edging. It's so pretty...it was only 50 cents and has never been used. It will be perfect in my decor.
I will leave you with a few pictures of my house...these were taken last week when it was sunny. I'm praying for that sun to come back soon!

Some shabby cottage photos of my house
Hey everyone...hope you're having a good week. I've been busy with many projects. Of course there is my kitten project I'm working on. I haven't been very faithful, so I have to get moving this weekend to get done. I've been doing some painting projects (furniture) because I'm going to do an upcoming flea market in April. I've also been major cleaning the last two days...(I think I'm starting the nesting mode for baby). Of course I've had to fit a little junkin' in. I haven't found much...can't wait for garage sales!
I just wanted to share a few pictures of my shabby cottage house since it's clean...ok somewhat. I hope it inspires you to let spring take over your house. (I need to go get some fresh flowers...I'm in that kind of mood!)
Have a great week and count your blessings!

A Full Junkin' Day ~ Creepy Dolls
I am one tired lady as my friend Tesa and I decided to head out this morning to an auction. The auction was a total bust...no good, no fun junk. We decided to go a little further and hit a town with 6 antique stores. The 1st antique store wasn't anything special. To our dismay all the others were closed. Tesa drove by one and saw people in there, so she opened the door and asked if they were open. They weren't...but they let us in anyways. She found some goodies and I found a white corner cabinet and white trellis. I found some really, really old angels painted on old oilcloth? The guy told me they were at least 60 years old as they came from his mom's things. He told us he had some warehouses he would take us to...so off we went with him to look for more. I got a vintage baby bassinet (which I'll be needing soon for little McKale), architectural pieces (2), and a green chippy drop leaf table with chairs. Now most of this stuff will be heading to my space at my shop rental. With Tesa's SUV full and our tummies not, we headed to a great place on the lake and had some wonderful walleye and shrimp. It was so good! All in all we had a fun day...and that's why I am so beat!
I wanted to share some pictures of my doll collection. I never wanted to be a doll collector, but one thing lead to another and I have a small collection. I have to warn you though...some are kind of creepy! I'm kind of obsessed with creepy dolls now. One picture is a sock monkey I made over in pink. Her name is Maude. She lets me buy whatever I want. That's why I love her so much. Ok, because she's pink too! Enjoy the pictures...don't think badly of me. LOL
I have 3 kitten done out of 20 (read my last post to see what I'm talking about.) This will be one busy week working on those, and trying to get my new stuff into the shop. The green chippy table needs some work and I want to get it in as soon as possible with spring around the corner. Everyone have a great week...happy junkin' all!

A Very Worthy Cause
I came across a very cool website called Enchanted Makeovers. It is an organization that goes in and decorates shelters for women and children to make their place feel more like home. I have been searching and asking God about what can I do in life that makes a difference...what is my purpose? I've been through The Purpose Driven Life book (by Pastor Rick Warren) 3 times and started it again. It's not that I don't have anything to do, but what good is this creative talent he's given me if I'm not using it for something beyond myself? When I saw this website I knew I wanted to help. I emailed the founder and asked her what I could do to help. I gave links to my blog...to show her some of what I do. We got in contact with each other and I will be making 20 of my handmade stuffed kittens for their next project. Now, I'm not telling you about this to brag...but I'm so excited...I can be passionate about this. I love to be creative and I can help someone out there with my creativity. It is a gift to be shared. For me it is a purpose that will help me look beyond myself...and look to help others who need it. Please, please, please visit this website and see if there is something you can do to help. I wanted to post a picture of the first kitten I got done today...only 19 more to go! I figure I can get 1 a day done and make it in time for the deadline of the end of May (and before baby boy #5 Mckale gets here!) 1 1/2- 2 months before his arrival. All 4 of my boys were 2 weeks early so I am hoping he decides to do the same. Thanks for listening to my excitement...I love making these stuffed animals...they all have different personalities and they are so much fun!

Some crafts keeping me busy
I try to keep myself busy. I always feel like I need to be doing something creative. I wanted to share with you a few of the crafty things I have been doing lately. I love to make jewelry from junk and other pieces of vintage jewelry. It is a fun hobby that I started this past summer. Another thing I accomplished lately is making a apron that I sewed by hand. I don't have a sewing machine, so anything I make I sew by hand. This one took awhile as I didn't even measure...just went to work. I ended up making it way to big...had to cut it in half and find a way to sew it back together. Thank goodness for vintage laces. I think it turned out great. I used napkins folded in half for pockets. Now I can use this apron when I do the flea markets. I have a place to put my money and not lose track of it. The last item is a sweet dolly I made for my friend that had a premature baby and just brought her home. I hope you enjoy my fun little projects. I love making things!

I'm still trying to figure out this blogging thing. I mess up and then have to start over. All I can say is I'm trying my best to do everything like it's supposeto go.
I found a few goodies this week at the thrift store and went to the flea market today. I will try to post those later (after I get some pictures). It's a gloomy day and I can barely wait until spring comes and stays so I can get outside and do some painting projects. I also need to get our garage organized. I have way to many projects out there and not enough time. So what did I buy today? 4 chairs that need to be stripped, sanded, primed and painted. Then they also need recovering. I couldn't resist the price though. I paid $12 for all 4 chairs. They are from the 1940's and they will be adorable after I get them done. (When will I find the time?)
I decided to share some random pictures with you of some of my house. Enjoy!

Thanks to everyone who has checked out my blog. I really appreciate it. Thanks for all the sweet comments.
I had a nice surprise today via the littlest Knoblich Westin. He decided to "drink" from the bar-b-que sauce bottle this morning. He was so proud of himself. Of course after that he proceeded to smear it all over the kitchen floor. He did try to clean it up himself, but just smeared and made it dry faster and become sticky. I should of taken a picture, but I am always in a hurry and just cleaned it up. The kid loves to create "ART" with condiments and eggs I swear.
Hope everyone is having a good day. I ate a nummy monster bacon cheese burger and fries at my favorite bar/grill. I can't eat like this much longer. I'm surprised I'm not 250 lbs now from eating there constantly. It was soooo good!

New to the blogger world
Hey everyone! I've wanted to start a blog forever and I am finally here. Please have patience with me as I learn the ropes of blogland!
My name is Rachel Knoblich and I am a mom of 4 boys...soon to be 5. Our 5th son is due May 12th of this year. My sons are Ashton (13), Cole (11), Hayden (6 1/2) and Westin (5). Our newest son will be named McKale. I've been married 13 years to my husband Bryan. He is a busy man working as an Assistant Scout Executive for the Boy Scouts of America. (I know you're snickering...how fitting...5 boys...works for the Boy Scouts. I never had a chance for a girl! LOL)
I stay at home with these crazy kids and sell part time at a booth I rent. I am a lover of shabby chic and cottage style decor. I love being on the hunt and finding things for my home and for others. I love to remake things...painting...adding different fabric...sometimes sewing. I have been selling for almost a year at the shop I am in. It has been up and down, but I wouldn't trade it for the world. I'm doing what I love and best of all working for me. (Not to mention getting paid to shop...come on now!) Along the way I have met so many wonderful friends who love all the same things that I do. It's a fun job/hobby/lifestyle and I love to recruit others to join the fun.
I also am a Christian who follows Jesus. It's important to share my faith and love others as Jesus would. I love all kinds of people (for I am a peculiar one myself)...I have 7 tattoos (some Christian)...and I just except people as they are. God has done so much in my life that I want to share that with others.
Since this is my first post I'll keep it short. Thanks for all who have encouraged me to start a blog....YOU ASKED FOR IT....HERE I AM!
