A Very Worthy Cause

I came across a very cool website called Enchanted Makeovers. It is an organization that goes in and decorates shelters for women and children to make their place feel more like home. I have been searching and asking God about what can I do in life that makes a difference...what is my purpose? I've been through The Purpose Driven Life book (by Pastor Rick Warren) 3 times and started it again. It's not that I don't have anything to do, but what good is this creative talent he's given me if I'm not using it for something beyond myself? When I saw this website I knew I wanted to help. I emailed the founder and asked her what I could do to help. I gave links to my blog...to show her some of what I do. We got in contact with each other and I will be making 20 of my handmade stuffed kittens for their next project. Now, I'm not telling you about this to brag...but I'm so excited...I can be passionate about this. I love to be creative and I can help someone out there with my creativity. It is a gift to be shared. For me it is a purpose that will help me look beyond myself...and look to help others who need it. Please, please, please visit this website and see if there is something you can do to help. I wanted to post a picture of the first kitten I got done today...only 19 more to go! I figure I can get 1 a day done and make it in time for the deadline of the end of May (and before baby boy #5 Mckale gets here!) 1 1/2- 2 months before his arrival. All 4 of my boys were 2 weeks early so I am hoping he decides to do the same. Thanks for listening to my excitement...I love making these stuffed animals...they all have different personalities and they are so much fun!

So in my opinion it gives in more ways than one....

  4. How wonderful that you get to make kittys for this worthy cause! I made carebags for the carebag foundation for awhile , but that kinda fell by the wayside and I need to get moving again!! Blessings!

Hubby and I are trying to do something like this right now---helping another person in need. I hope you stop by for a visit. I love the kittens and I can just see the faces on the children when they recieve them. God Bless You, Pat

  11. Your blog inspired me. I contacted Enchanted makeovers to see if they could use someone in the Dallas, TX area to do some crafty metalwork for them.
